The meaning of life

Since the dawn of time, the ultimate question has been asked in a number of ways. Why do we exist? What is the meaning of life? Does God exist? What is the origin of the universe? How does the world exist, and what is its origin or source of creation? Why is there something rather than nothing?

This site offers you the possibility to discuss this fundamental metaphysical question with others. It also allows you to share your opinion and react to other people's points of view. What do you believe in? What do you think is the meaning of life?

Whether you are a believer, an atheist, an agnostic, or a clever mix of all three, you are welcome! Your point of view can be serious, absurd, even bordering on completely nuts. However, the following two things are essential to this dialogue: respect and an open mind.

Respect: you may defend your opinion and try to prove the falsity of another, but it is forbidden to attack its author directly. Fascism and generalisations are strictly verboten!

An open mind: if you can't handle having your convictions being put into question, this might not be the place for you. For this same reason, a sense of humour is highly recommended! If your beliefs forbid their being made fun of, you might not want to participate in this dialogue.

Although you might know the answer to the ultimate questions of life, the universe and everything, you still might not be able to act from it. It is hard to face the personality you'd like to have and realize that you don't have it. It is even harder to face the countless occasions when you tried to become your better self but you've failed. What makes the problem for most of humanity?

Three words.

Unable to fight.

What does it mean to fight or struggle for something in our daily lives? Eventually, struggling means overcoming on death through a life in which even our death brings us towards the goal of our life. For this, we have to know exactly what our goal is, what our task is to reach that goal, and we have to have unending power and persistence to unstoppably go towards the goal until we reach it, no matter who or what is trying to stand in our way.

There has to be inner peace filled with power. This is the power we use in our daily struggle. As long as we have aim to use it our soul stands still, our life is guided, and our destiny is in our own hands.

So, my friends, have something to fight for! Don't care about danger, other people's opinions, possible losses or such things. You will die eventually, this is an ultimate truth. But most people don't even live. Think of the people who you admire. How did they live? What did they achieve? What kind of sacrifice did they make?

One's greatness is proportional with the effort he put in his life. Would your life worth living without a fight? Think about it.

When the voice and the vision on the inside becomes more profound, more clear and loud than the opinions on the outside - then you have mastered your life.

How have you tried to become your better self?
I think, the best way to improve the inner me, is to use and work on my attributes. Don't try other personalities, that are not within you. Use the ones you have.

Interesting, Victor Frankl's point of view was that "our meaning in life" changes from situation to situation. Something to think about?

Indeed. Our environment and our experiences according to the necessary actions we take to go forth in life are changing the meaning of our life. But the meaning of our life has to be solid enough not to obey any silly temporary changes in our environment.

To becoming better, you can do basically two things:
1. You can practice to overcome your mistakes and failures until you succeed, one after the other.
2. You can practice to become better in what you are already good at.

Altogether these two things lead you in one direction, which can be called your purpose in life.
