The meaning of life is to better the world we live in, be it through reproduction (keep one's species alive)or helping other organisms to live. All living things can fit this description, except for humans in some cases. A cow betters the world by keeping its species alive, and continuing the carbon cycle. A pine tree betters the world by playing a role in oxygen production. An insect serves as food for other animals, while still managing to reproduce. Humans sometimes fit this description, but not always. Humans, when they respect others, other species, and the world, with morality and a good conscience (something humans have) then we are fulfilling the meaning of life. When a human does not use his or her gift of conscience and sense of morality, they are not bettering the world tobthe full extent we could. If this means donating to charity, or volunteering, or even treating all races and cultures with respect, you are fulfilling the meaning of life. This is not suggesting you start a charity, but rather that a sense of morality and a strong conscience, when maintained, lead to a good and happy life. Any thoughts?
